Allen M. Friesen

Allen M. Friesen, 81 of Henderson, NE, died Wednesday, November 26, 2003 in Henderson. He was born March 4, 1922 in Henderson to Gerhard and Katharina (Friesen) Friesen. He was a 1939 graduate of Henderson High School, graduated from York College and received his Master’s Degree in Education in 1956 from the University of Nebraska. He married Martha L. Klippenstein on October 15, 1943 in Henderson. Allen was a school administrator and was superintendent of Henderson Community Schools for 33 years. He was a member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson, Henderson Commercial Club, served on the boards of the Educational Service Unit #6 and Nebraska School Activities Assoc. He also enjoyed researching his family genealogy.

Survivors include his wife, Martha L. of Henderson; sons, Charles “Chuck” (Patricia) Friesen and Stuart (Joan Cromwell) Friesen both of Lincoln, NE, Ross (Angela) Friesen of Lawrence, KS; daughter, Connie (Robert) Jones of Fargo, ND; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; sister, Amy Friesen of Henderson; sister-in-law, Betty Friesen of Bella Vista, AK. Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers; two sisters.

Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bethesda Cemetery near Henderson, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson. Memorials are suggested to Henderson Health Care Services or the Immigrant House
