Evelyn J. Folts

Evelyn June Folts, age 88, of York, NE, passed away Thursday, September 09, 2010 at York. She was born January 22, 1922 in York to Fred and Myrtle (Kaeding) Wolfe. She graduated from Benedict Consolidated School where her son, daughter and grandchildren also graduated.

Evelyn married Marshall E. Folts on October 4, 1941 at the Lutheran Church in Hollywood, CA. They resided in California while Marshall and Evelyn worked at Lockeed Aircraft. They later returned to farm near Benedict, NE and upon retirement, moved into Benedict. Following Marshall’s death on June 10, 1994, Evelyn moved to York.

Evelyn was an active member of the Shiloh E.U.B. Church and later a member of the Benedict United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Benedict Beauties, the Dorcas Club, the Pitch‘n Chatter Club and an active member in the Benedict community.

Survivors include her son, Gary (Donna) Folts of Benedict, NE; daughter, Marsha (David) Thompson of Tucson, AZ; two grandsons, Scott Folts of York, NE, and Steven (Lynn) Folts of Benedict; and four great-grandchildren, Michael Folts of Benedict, Amanda Folts of Benedict, Whitney and Hunter Folts of York. Also surviving is one brother Donald (Bonnie) Wolfe of Polk, NE; one sister Janice (Bob) Lott of Benedict; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, and one great-granddaughter Courtney Lynn Folts.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Metz Chapel in York, NE with the Reverends Dan Spearow and Bill Armold officiating. Burial followed at York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
