Jerry Finley

Jerry E. Finley, age 71 of Waco, NE, died Friday, July 7, 2006 at his home in Waco. He was born July 5, 1935 at Waco to Carnie and Lloyd (Watson) Finley. Jerry was a graduate of Waco High School and married Janice Smith of Waco on July 10, 1955. He was a longtime farmer and later worked at Earthstove and York Wholesale. Jerry served in the army and was a member of the American Legion York Bolton Post #19, a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church at Elkhorn and the Nebraska State Historical Society. He was a history buff and enjoyed antique cars and farm equipment.

Surviving are his 3 children; JerLene and her husband Joel Mosley of Omaha and their daughter Maren; Jerry D. and his wife Cindy of York and their children Justin, Misty, Jacob and Shyanne; James and his wife Kara of Auckland, New Zealand and their children Brandon, Jessica, Taylor and Hannah. Preceding him in death were his parents and wife Janice.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 10:00 am at the Metz Chapel in York. Burial was in the Waco Cemetery with military honors. Memorials may be directed to the family or the Nebraska Children’s Home in Omaha.
