Martha Ferree

Martha E. Ferree age 89 of York, formerly a longtime Gresham area resident died Saturday, October 1, 2005 at York. She was born May 22, 1916 at Henderson, NE to David S. and Margaretha (Epp) Buller. Martha was a former member of the Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson and had also attended Methodist Churches at Beaver Crossing and Gresham. She loved crocheting and sewing. On January 20, 1952 she was married to Harlan D. Ferree at York. She is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Ferree of Lincoln and Carolyn and her husband Joe Zitek of Omaha; one grandson, Aaron Zitek of Omaha and a sister Anna Goertzen of Aurora. Also surviving is a brother-in-law Abe Thieszen of Henderson. Special friends include; Steve and Wendy Wait of Ulysses, Susan Wait of Lincoln and Summer, Bert, Elizabeth and Madeline Stephens all of Lincoln and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harlan, five sisters, Katherine, Sarah, Marie, Margaret and Emma and one brother David. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at the Metz Chapel in York with Steve Wait officiating. Burial will be in Plainfield Cemetery west of Bradshaw. Memorials may be directed to the Bethesda Radio Broadcast. Visitation begins after 5:00 p.m., Monday at the mortuary.
