Amelia Epp

Amelia A. Epp, age 77 of Henderson, Nebraska died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Henderson. She was born August 8, 1927, near Marion, S.D., to Daniel and Anna (Tieszen) Becker. On September 29, 1961, Amelia was united in marriage to Robert O. Epp at rural Marian, S.D. Amelia was a lifelong homemaker and skilled seamstress. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, gardening, and tending to her flowers. She was an avid reader who stayed up to speed on current events and loved animals. Amelia cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Amelia is survived by her husband Robert O. of Henderson; two sons Charles R. Epp and wife Lora Jost of Lawrence, KS and Timothy R. Epp and wife Heidi Schmidt of Hyattsville, MD; six grandchildren Nicholai Jost-Epp of Lawrence, KS and Dietrich, Tristan, Lydia, Jalilah, and Kenisha Epp-Schmidt all of Hyattsville, MD; one brother Willard (Bertha) Becker of Freeman, SD; and four sisters Emma (Lester) Schroeder of Sioux Falls, SD, Anna Mae (Velmar) Rudiger of Denver, CO, Eva (Lowell) Goosen of Marian, SD, and Lily (Carl) Schroeder of Edina, MN. Preceding her in death were her parents and a brother Herbert.

Graveside services will be held at 12:45 pm, Friday, June 10, at Bethesda Mennonite Cemetery with Memorial services following interment at 2:00 pm Friday at Bethesda Mennonite Church in Henderson with the Reverends Weldon Marten and George Kaufman officiating. Visitation will begin after 5:00 pm Wednesday at Metz Mortuary in Henderson with family greeting friends and neighbors on Thursday from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to MCC, Christian Peacemaker Teams, or Bethesda Mennonite Church.
