Reta Ellis

Reta N. Ellis, age 84, of McCool Jct., NE, Wednesday, December 10, 2008 at Lincoln. She was born on March 8, 1924 in Fillmore County, NE to Everett and Veva (Boren) Bellows. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, McCool Jct., and was united in marriage to Melvin B. Ellis on February 17, 1944 at Belleville, KS.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Gayle Ellis of Lincoln and Marsha Ward of McCool Jct.; sons and their wives, Ken and Sharlene Ellis of Waverly, NE, and Mark and Valerie Ellis of McCool Jct.; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Jean and her husband Roy Stuhr of York, NE, sisters-in-law, Beulah Bellows of McCool Jct. and Lucille Ellis of Portland, OR, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, infant daughter Marla, and a brother, Dale Bellows.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2008 at the United Methodist Church, McCool Jct., with the Reverend Jeff Adams officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, McCool Jct., NE. Open casket visitation will be from 1-9 p.m., Saturday and 1-9 p.m. Sunday at the Mortuary. The casket will be closed at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Monarch Hospice or to the family for later designation.
