Donald Duncan

Donald Wayne Duncan, age 56 of Beatrice, formerly of York, died Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at Omaha. He was born April 5, 1948 at Norfolk, NE to Paul W. and Marie J. (Krutina) Duncan. Don was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War serving two tours of duty. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star. Don married Doreen Black at York on August 6, 1971. He was a 1994 graduate of Hastings Community College. Don was a dental tech and had been the manager of a dental lab. He was a member of the Eagles and the National Dental Laboratories Assn. Don is survived by his wife Doreen of Beatrice; son Shane (Robyn) Duncan of Hermitage, TN; daughter Andrea Duncan of Beatrice; grandchildren Kayleigh and Kyler Duncan both of Hermitage, TN; father Rolland “Rollie” Hughes of York; sister Linda (Dave) Troutman of York; 3 brothers, Richard Hughes of York, Marlin (Tokiko) Hughes of Fukuoka-ken, Japan and Michael (Becky) Hughes of Loveland, CO. Preceding him in death was his mother Marie Hughes. Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 9, 2004 at Metz Mortuary. Burial was at the Greenwood Cemetery in York with military honors.
