Linda Duerksen

Linda M. Duerksen, age 66, of York, NE, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at Lincoln, NE. She was born April 30, 1945 in York to Martin and Charlotte (Dinkelman) Naber and was previously a member of St John’s Lutheran Church at Waco. Linda worked as a legal secretary for Jerry Beaver and then joined Lunner Abstract Company in York. It later became York County Title Co where Linda was the current manager.

She was a member of various community and professional organizations. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed attending family sporting and musical events and spending time with her grandchildren. Linda was an avid Husker fan and was a member and past secretary of the York Women’s Bowling League and the United States Bowling Congress. Linda and Arvin Duerksen were married on September 22, 1967 at Waco, NE.

Survivors include her husband Arvin of York; sons Allen and wife Cindy of Central City, NE, and Keith of Kearney, NE; daughter Bette and husband Clint Spath of Kearney, NE; five grandchildren, Alyssa and Rylie Young of Central City, Callyn Duerksen of Central City, Brandt and Braden Spath of Kearney. Also surviving is a brother, Reuben and his wife Karen Naber of Waco, NE. Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister-in-law, Donna Naber.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with burial taking place in the Bethesda Cemetery northeast of Henderson following services. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
