Carol Downing

Carol D. “Bubbles” Downing age 76 of York, NE died Monday, December 31, 2007 at York. She was born May 18, 1931 at Monroe, NE to John and Thelma (Beardsley) Reese. Carol worked as a bartender at Duffy’s in York for many years. Carol enjoyed dancing and partying with her friends. Carol’s nickname was “Bubbles” earned by her evervesant personality in life. She was a member of the Eagles Club in York.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Deb (Jeff) Etherton of Scranton, IA and Lynette Otte; son Terry Teeples; grandchildren include: Charles (Mieko) Ochsner of Hawaii, Micheal (Misty) Ochsner of Carroll, IA, Sara Etherton of Scranton, IA; great grandchildren include: Caden Etherton, Elijah Ochsner, and Jeremy and Jamie Ochsner. Surviving brothers include Ralph, Phil, and Alfred Reese and one sister Patricia (Fred) Kramer of York. Special friends include Sandi Oxley of York; Luz Tescon of Jacksonville, Florida; Caroline Esterling and Larry Milton both of York. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother Johnny, brother Russell M. Reese and a sister Lois Marie Romjue.

Funeral services were Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Metz Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Memorials may be directed to family.
