Raymond Donelson

Raymond A. Donelson age 91 of York, NE died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at The York General Hearthstone. He was born August 15, 1917 to Arthur N. and Esther E. (Anderson) Donelson at rural Stromsburg, NE. He was a 1935 graduate of Stromsburg High School. On May 8, 1949, Raymond was united in marriage to Helen L. Ehlers at Waco, NE. Raymond was General Superintendent for Ready Mix Concrete Company in Omaha, NE for over 38 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York.

He is survived by daughters, Sheryl Tverberg of Cohasset, MN; Barbara Donelson of Omaha, NE; son Ronald (Amy) Donelson of Plano, TX; five grandchildren: Dr. Tammy Zimmel of Racine, WI, Staci and husband Mike Clawson of Edina, MN, Ryan Donelson of Boise, ID, Elise and Lauren Donelson of Plano, TX; two great-grandchildren: Emma and Grace Clawson of Edina, MN. Also surviving is a brother Carol (Ruth Frances) Donelson of Stromsburg and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Helen, daughter Janet Rubley, brother Harlen, sister Ruby Lewis, and granddaughter Kimberly Tverberg.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 9, 2009 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in York with the Reverend Tim Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, York. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2-8 pm at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
