Elsie Dickerson

Elsie E. Dickerson age 85 of York, died Friday, May 27, 2005 at York. She was born September 5, 1919 at Beaver Crossing, NE to William and Mary (Hanson) Anderson. Elsie graduated from Bradshaw High School in 1937 and then graduated in 1942 from the Nebraska Methodist Hospital at Omaha with a certificate in nursing training. She then moved to Hawaii where she met and married her husband Earl A. Dickerson. Elsie was a longtime nurse in the York area serving at the York General Hospital for over 40 yrs. She was also a fifty year member of the First United Methodist Church in York. In March of 1943 she was married to Earl Dickerson at Honolulu, Hawaii. She is survived by a son Richard Lee Dickerson of Irvine, CA. two daughters, Carman Louise and her husband David Rutten and Judith K and her husband Sonny Crawford all of York. 11 Grandchildren 23 Great Grandchildren 2 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, 5 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 great granddaughter.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Dick Woolard officiating. Burial will be in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Visitation will be from 1:00 – 9:00 p.m., Sunday and 1:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Memorial Day Monday at the mortuary.
