Leta Deprez
Leta H. Deprez age 90 of York, NE died Saturday, October 21, 2006 at York.
She was born January 29, 1916 at York to Harry A. and Julia (Monson) Yost and graduated from both the York High School and York College. Leta was a longtime York area teacher having first taught at St Joseph’s Catholic School in York for many years and then at the Benedict Highs School until her retirement. She was a member of St Joseph’s Catholic Church in York, was a 4-H leader for many years, taught swimming lessons at the York Community Center and loved gardening especially caring for her Tea roses. Leta enjoyed canning and playing bridge. She was a longtime member of the York Smokey Lassies Auxiliary in York and also directed the Mother Singers Choir group in York as well.
On October 9, 1937 she was married to John P. Deprez at McCook, NE.
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy and her husband Bill Stroud of Benedict, NE and Pat Deprez of York.
Three Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren.
She is also survived by two brother in laws Dale Hedrick of Lincoln and Leo and his wife Kathleen Deprez of York.
One sister in law Catherine and her husband Virgil Willits of Clarks, NE.
Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson Burt Deprez, a son in law Dr Jay Jackson and a sister Dorothy Hedrick.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York with Father Mark Tasler officiating. Burial was in St Joseph’s Cemetery at York. Memorials may be directed to St Joseph’s Catholic School in York.
