Viola Curren
Viola W. Curren, age 83 of rural Bradshaw, NE, died May 9, 2005 at Aurora. She was born July 11, 1921 to John and Matilda (Paben) Wessel on a farm north of Bradshaw.
Viola attended school at District 81 and completed 8th grade in 1934. Viola was united in marriage to Leo Curren on November 27, 1946. Viola was a homemaker all her married life and except for a few years in early marriage spent her life on the farm that she was born and raised on. Gardening, canning, raising chickens were all a part of her life on the farm. She was an excellent cook and often was asked for her recipes. Viola also created beautiful embroidery work. Her family is fortunate to have received many of these items as gifts.
She is survived by her husband Leo of Bradshaw, son Dewey and wife Sharon of Kiser, Missouri, two daughters Kathy and husband Larry Beckman of Omaha and Frances Dunham of Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren Sarah Graff of Lincoln, Tad Beckman of Omaha, Britta Beckman of North Providence, Rhode Island, Ryan Dunham of Overland Park, Kansas, Shelly Schiley of Edwards, California, Brian Somerhalder of Omaha, Nebraska, and Nicole Bonney of Lake Ozark, Missouri; great grandchildren Frankie Curren, Issac and Hannah Graff, Eliana and Samuel Schiley, and Sara and Alyssa Bonney. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Dewey, and sister Wilma.
Funeral Services were 10:00 am, Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Metz Mortuary with Reverend Seth Leypold officiating. Burial followed at Arborville Cemetery near Polk, Nebraska.
