Leo Curren
Leo B. Curren, age 85 of rural Bradshaw, NE, died August 9, 2010 at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora, Nebraska. He was born September 26, 1924, to Harvey and Frances (Conrad) Curren on a farm north of Arborville, NE. Leo lived his whole life in York County and farmed and raised livestock. He was still involved with cattle at the time of his death. He was a diligent worker and enjoyed raising livestock and had a passion for farming. Work never came second in his life. He married Viola Wessel November 27, 1946.
He is survived by his three children Dewey and wife Sharon of Kiser, MO, Kathy and husband Larry Beckman of Omaha, NE and Frances Dunham of Lenexa, KS; grandchildren Sarah (Curren) Graff of Lincoln, NE, Tad Beckman and Britta (Beckman) Durow of Omaha, NE, and Ryan Dunham of Lenexa, KS; step grandchildren, Shelly Schiley of Camdenton, MO, Nicole Bonney of Lake Ozark, MO, and Brian Somerhalder of Omaha, NE; great grandchildren Frankie Graff, Henry Beckman and step great-grandchildren Eliana and Samuel Schiley, Alyssa, Sara and A.J. Bonney. And one brother Kenneth and numerous nieces and nephews. Leo was preceded in death by his wife Viola, parents, sisters, Bessie, Mildred, Opal, Pansy, Lois and Bethel and brother Lloyd.
Memorial services Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Metz Chapel in York, NE. Inurnment followed at the Arborville Cemetery near Polk, NE. There was no viewing or visitation as it was Mr. Curren’s wish to be cremated. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
