Boyd Lee Critel

Boyd Lee Critel, age 57 of York, died Saturday, February 21, 2004 at York. He was born at York on November 24, 1946 to Alvin S. and Elizabeth E. (Grigsby) Critel. Boyd attended school at McCool Junction. On November 26, 1967, he was married to Rita L. Spencer at Central City. Boyd worked at Sunflower Beef in York until 1976 when he began organic farming. He was a member of several patriotic organizations. Boyd was a man who stood by his beliefs and convictions, no matter what anyone else had to say. His greatest passion was hunting, fishing, his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Rita of York, family; Dallas & Heidi Critel of Salem, SD, Stacy & Marty Shipps of York, Cody & Jessica Gibson of York, Cindy & Chris Critel of York, Michelle Potter of York and Bobby & Jessica Jensen of York. Grandchildren; Marcus, James, Dustin, Shelby, Little D., Elizabeth, Brian, Dakota & Kaylee. Also surviving are his mother Elizabeth Critel of York, brothers; Larry & Diann Critel of York, Loyd & Carol Critel of Lincoln; sisters; Evelyn & Delmar Polacek of Surprise, NE and Barbara (Bob) & Roland (Mickey) Haydel of Oregon. Preceding him in death were his father Alvin Critel, sister Artie Burton, father-in-law Robert Spencer and special friend John Wiemer.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Metz Chapel in York with Bill Holt officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at York. Memorials may be directed to the family
