Lorita Covey

Lorita A. Covey age 74 of York, NE, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Lincoln, NE. She was born on November 15, 1935 at York to Arthur and Lora (Wilson) Pinneo. She was united in marriage to Byron L. Covey on December 20, 1953 at York. Lorita worked as a bookkeeper at the J.M. McDonald store in York and Farm Bureau Insurance Co. as well. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in York and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Byron of York; children, Clint (Gladys) Covey of Lakeville, MN, Pam (Dr. Po) Pomajzl of Grand Island, NE, Linda (Clark) Kirkpatrick of Lincoln and Becky Becker of Papillion, NE; eleven grandchildren, Jody Levonyak of Littleton, CO, Sara Covey of Parker, CO, A.J. Pomajzl of Lincoln, Alyssa Pomajzl of Grand Island, Austan Pomajzl of Wayne, NE, Tara Doell of Hastings, NE, Sgt Christopher (Erin) Doell of Fort Sill, OK, Miranda (Monte) Rodriguez of York, Colton Kirkpatrick of Lincoln, Emily Becker of Bellevue, NE and Eric Becker of Atlanta, GA; eight great-grandchildren, J.T. Larson, Tessie Larson, Trey Rainey, A.J. Doell, Christen Doell, Sebastian Rodriguez, Manuel Rodriguez, and Traestan Pomajzl. Lorita is also survived by one brother, David (Carol) Pinneo of New Castle, IN, two nephews, Jeff and Greg Pinneo and families, special cousin Sharon Adelson of Scottsdale, AZ, and special friend Orpha Friesen of York. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Lawrence Covey.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in York with the Reverend Art Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church.
