Shirley M. Corbin

Shirley M. Corbin age 81 of York and the widow of Melvin Daryl Corbin died Saturday, March 26, 2004 at Lincoln. She was born February 27, 1923 at Austin, Minnesota to Clarence and Maggie Evelyn (Ingalls) Thorp and was a member of St. Olaf’s Lutheran Church in Austin. Her joy in life was her daughter, sons and her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Michael and his wife Janet Wilkins and Gary and his wife Ginger Wilkins all of Geneva; one daughter, Janice and her husband Jerry Stuck of York; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Chuck Thorpe from California and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, 5 brothers and one sister.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 1, 2004 at the Metz Chapel in York. Private family inurnment will take place at a later time in Minnesota. Memorials may be directed to the family. There will be no visitation as her body was cremated.
