Paul "Jack" Conrad
Paul “Jack” Conrad, age 79 of York, died June 9, 2006 at York. He was born August 2, 1926 at Burwell to Harry and Hanna (Boyle) Conrad. Jack was united in marriage to Bonnie Conard on September 5, 1953 at Sacred Heart Church in Burwell.
Jack served his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard.
He was a part’s man in Burwell and for Geis Motors (25 years), as well as, a local business owner. Jack was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He belonged to the Elks and Legion Clubs, enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards, and visiting with friends and family.
Jack is survived by two daughters: Kim Conrad of York and Kris (Bill) Walkup of York; two sons: Greg Conrad of York and Eric (Jennifer) Conrad of Nebraska City; Grandchildren: Josh (Jenny) Conrad of York, Chelsea Walkup of Lincoln, Nicole and Sean Walkup of York, and Andrew, Peter, Katie, and Jonathan Conrad of Nebraska City; and three great-grandchildren: Keeley, Nicholas, and Emory Conrad of York. He is also survived by two sisters: Mary Catherine Petska of Oregon and Margaret Walhoski of Elyria, Nebraska; one brother Joe (Sharon) Conrad of Hastings, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son Nicholas.
Funeral services were Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York with Father Leo Seiker officiating. Military graveside service followed at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
