Virginia Connolly

Virginia Mae Connolly age 71 of York, died Saturday, January 29, 2005 at York. She was born May 25, 1933 at Benedict, Nebraska to Carl and Doris (Rhoads) Shipferling and was a member of the First Christian Church in York. Virginia lived and full and happy life. After retiring from NBC Bank in Lincoln in the janitorial department she enjoyed roller skating, dancing, singing, playing her guitar, Husker Football and sprint car racing. She also loved Elvis Presley and country music and recently took a trip to Graceland. She also visited the Grand Ole Opry where Loretta Lynn performed. She is survived by her fiance Leonard Chrastil of York, son Carl and his wife Chris Gragg of Avoca, NE, three daughters, Dorisla and her husband Bob Kramer of York, Barbara Jean and her husband John Krueger of Lincoln and Lisa Gragg also of Lincoln. Also surviving are two sisters, Joyce and her husband Walter Umshler of Shelby and Betty and her husband Darwin Houck of Geneva. 11 Grandchildren, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by hr parents.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the First Christian Church in York. Burial was in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
