William Collingham
William “Bill” E. Collingham, age 64 of York, died Saturday, December 16, 2006 in Lincoln. He was born on November 24, 1942 to William Jacob and Anna (Zanzig) Collingham in York. Bill served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He owned Ace Drive Inn in York and followed the venture by driving truck. He then worked for the Leggs Panty Hose Co. in distribution for over 20 years in Las Vegas, NV. Bill was a member of the First Christian Church in York, were he served as deacon. Bill loved to sing and took pleasure in woodworking. He enjoyed being outdoors, spending his time fishing and camping. His other hobbies included collecting M&M memorabilia and model train sets.
Bill is survived by two sons: Mark Owen and his wife Cheri and James Jacob and his special friend Bobbie all of York; five grandchildren: Angel Collingham of Bingen, Germany, and Samantha, Chase, Jude, and Zoe Collingham of York; one great grandchild Jayden Walter of Bingen, Germany. Also surviving is one sister Shirley and her husband John Van Patten of York, many nephews, and great nieces. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, and one niece.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at the First Christian Church in York. Interment followed at Plainfield Cemetery outside of Bradshaw. Memorials may be directed to the family.
