Rollan Collingham

Rollan D. Collingham, age 75 of York, NE, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 11, 2010. He was born December 13, 1934 to Clarence and Clara (Hablitzel) Collingham at their home in York. Rollan met the love of his life, Evelyn Lindbloom in Boise, ID where they were married on November 6, 1954. This union was blessed with six children, Tracey, Darlene, Allen, Stanley, Sandra, and Randy. Rollan worked at the York Packing Company for 19 ½ years. After that, they moved to Missouri where he worked for 19 years before returning to his hometown of York. He was currently employed at Wal Mart in York.

Rollan’s passions were his family and friends. He always made time for everyone. He especially loved hunting and fishing, which took him all over the country, usually with family in tow. He was an avid sports fan, attending as many Husker and Kansas City Chief’s games as time would allow. Rollan raised his children so they shared his passion for hunting, fishing, bowling, archery, and numerous other outdoor activities. Rollan was recently featured in the York News Times for being part of six generations.

Rollan is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn of York; children Tracey (Kevin) Wallace of Pratt, KS, Darlene Myer (Chuck Wetzel) of York, NE, Allen (Linda) Collingham of Greenfield, IN, Sandra (Kevin) Marsh of York, NE, and Randy (Melinda) Collingham of Henderson, NE; one daughter-in-law, Beverly Collingham of York, NE.

He is also survived by his mother, Clara Ervin of York, NE; siblings, Donald (Linda) Collingham of Camdenton, MO, Bessie (Dean) Snyder of Modesto, CA, Victor (Irene) Collingham of Eddy, TX, Gerald Collingham (Mardee Tomlin) of Tarkio, MO, Cynthia Collingham of St. Joseph, MO, Sherry (Dale) Taylor of York, NE, DeeAnn (Mark) Milhulka of Ridge Crest, CA, Jerry (Linda) Collingham of Caldwell, ID, Lee Ray (Sharon) Collingham of Boise, ID, Gail Collingham of Boise, ID, and Kay Marie (Larry) Hanson of Boise, ID. Surviving aunts and uncles include, Homer Collingham of Lincoln, NE, Orion Collingham of Aurora, NE, Arnold Collingham of The Dalles, OR, Everett Collingham of The Dalles, OR, and Barbara Berry of Polo, MO.

Surviving to carry on his legacy are 14 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins across the nation. His winning smile and great personality will be missed by everyone. Preceding him in death were his father, Clarence, one son Stanley, and one great grandson, Jared.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2010 at the Metz Chapel in York. Burial followed in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
