Ruth Luise Elsa Clerc, of York, Nebraska, passed away in her sleep April 8, 2011. She has been a resident of York General Hearthstone since November of 2007. She was born in Erfurt, Germany May 10, 1924 to Julius and Luise (Roth) Jaeger. Ruth married CSM Thomas H. Clerc of York, Nebraska on March 5, 1958. They were blessed to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary together in 2008, surrounded by family and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband. Tom passed away Thanksgiving Day of 2009. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her dearly loved Sister, Margot Johnson, and precious grandchild, Casey C. Bartlett.

She is survived by her two daughters: Carmen (Dr. Fred) Speirs of Colorado Springs, CO and Conny (Patrick) Yeutter of Eustis, NE; Grandchildren: Todd (Baret) Walker, Denver, CO, Christopher (Marissa) Walker, Pueblo, CO, Jenny (Chad) Hankinson, Indianpolis, IN, Courtney (Seth) Terrell, Hay Springs, NE, Cressey Yeutter, Chadron, NE, and Peyton Yeutter, Eustis, NE. Ruth will be remembered by her family for being the most wonderful homemaker. Her home was surely her castle, where she was truly content and happy and busy serving. However she also loved visiting family and friends from the USA to Europe, with Tom always at her side. Those were precious times. She recalled her happiest days being those of her childhood in Germany and her many years as a military wife, as well as the family gatherings throughout all the years. We feel blessed to have had her as our loving Mami/Mama and our Omi and Oma. She will be greatly missed by us all.
