David Claussen

David A. Claussen age 49 of York, NE died Thursday, August 3, 2006 at York. He was born August 21, 1956 at Columbus, NE to J.Alvin and Patricia (Summers) Claussen. He attended elementary school at District #33 in Creston, NE and was confirmed at St. Peter’s in Creston. David was a 1974 graduate of Leigh High School in Leigh, NE. Following high school he attended Business School in Grand Island, NE and then Southeast Community College at Milford, NE. He was united in marriage to Julie Hoover in York, NE on August 31, 1975. David was an electrician and had worked at K & S Sales and Service in Henderson, NE for the past 20 years. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed reading and working with computers.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Julie of York; sisters, Betty and her husband Darryl Shockley of Bellevue, NE, Susan and her husband Rick Wollman of Puyallup, WA, and Cynthia and her husband Brian Blankenship of Waynesville, OH; parents Alvin and Patricia Claussen of Columbus; brothers-in-law, Jim and his wife Wanda Hoover of York, Jerry and his wife Vanessa Hoover of Archie, MO; and mother-in-law Anna Hoover of York. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his sister, Jamie Lou Claussen.

Services were held on Monday, August 7, 2006 at the New Heights Assembly of God Church in York with the Reverend Tom James officiating. Burial was in York’s Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
