Alison Cavitt

Alison V. Cavitt age 64 of York, Nebraska formerly of St. Louis, MO died Wednesday January 6, 2010 at York. She was born August 12, 1945 at Brunswick, MA to W. Bryce and Florence (Smith) Van Syoc. Alison was a supervisor with the Housing Division of the Tourist and Visitors Bureau in St. Louis, MO for many years. With her outgoing personality she was a member of the Red Hat Society of St Louis, MO and enjoyed traveling and attending movies. She especially enjoyed her Girl Cousin Reunions. On September 18, 1998 she was married to Herbert Lee Cavitt at St. Louis.

She is survived by her father W. Bryce VanSyoc of Indianola, IA, a local second cousin Susie Fairbanks of York and many other family members. She was preceded in death by her mother, two brothers Derek and Robert.

It was Alison’s wish to be cremated so there was no viewing or visitation. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Winterset, IA. Memorials may be directed to the A.L.S. Foundation.
