Alice Caughey

Alice J. Caughey, age 78 of York, NE died Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Omaha, NE. She was born August 23, 1928 to Albert W. and Emma L. (Rich) Harms at Charleston, NE. Alice’s passion was embraced by motherhood. She loved and cherished the family that came to be. Her family boasts that she made the best cherry pie. Alice was also branded for her bravery, her spirituality and poetry guiding her through her trials and tribulations. Alice hoped that every soul could receive the same joy that she eventually found. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in York. Psalms 46:10 Be Still and Know I Am God

Alice was preceded in death by her first husband, the father of her children, Willis C. Heiden; husband Richard A. “Teeny” Caughey; and final companion Blake Higgins. Also preceding her in death was a son William K. Heiden; two sisters: Imagene May and Virginia Asher; and a nephew Jimmy F. Asher. Left to cherish her memory are two sons: Richard A. Heiden of Omaha and Stanley C. Heiden of York; four grandchildren: William C. Heiden, Jeffrey L. Heiden, and Joshua L. Heiden all of Louisville, KY and Angela R. Heiden of Spring Hill, KS; nieces Emilie Fleming and Susan Hrabik both of Omaha and Marcia J. Rollins of Santa Cruz, CA; nephews David H. Asher of Omaha and Robert S. May and Gregory A. May both of Denver, CO; as well as many other loving nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held April 23, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church or Epworth Village.
