Elizabeth Carter
Elizabeth Mabel Carter age 94 of York, NE died Monday, December 22, 2008 at York.
She was born September 28, 1914 at Carbon, IA to Hervey Otto and Harriette (Golden) Olds and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in York.
Elizabeth was the retired administrator from the I.O.O.F. Home for almost ten years.
She was a former member of the Evening Star Rebecca #55 but currently a member of the Truth Rebecca Lodge in Grand Island. LEA #11 at Fairmont, L.A.P.M. Paron #7 in York. Past Associate President L.A.P.M., Past Grand Matriarch L.E.A., Secretary Treasurer Past Grand Officers Association for 10 years. Elizabeth also loved gardening and placed flowers on the graves of former I.O.O.F. members for many years.
On June 17, 1932 she was married to Virgil M. Carter at Cozad, NE.
She is survived by her son Richard Dean Carter of Madison, IND.
Her two daughters, Beverly Miller and Judith Danielson both of York.

Also surviving is her brother Harold Olds of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Two sisters, Myrtle Levegne of Sacramento, CA, and Arlene Umshler of Bellevue, NE. A niece Carol Jean and her husband Gene Gangwish of Pennsylvania along with other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her three sisters
Polly Byers, Gladys Copass and Evelyn Silbermann and a brother Harvey Olds.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at the Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Art Phillips officiating with private family burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Elizabeth was cremated so there will be no viewing or visitation.
Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
