Lowell Carlock

Lowell H. Carlock age 61 of York, NE died Monday, February 27, 2006 at Bradshaw, NE. He was born May 8, 1944 in Gentry County, Missouri to Ross Henry and Gerthel Fern (Newman) Carlock. Lowell graduated with an Associate’s Degree from York College in 1974 and went on to graduate from University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a B.A. Degree in Social Science and a minor in Industrial Arts in 1976. He was a former teacher having taught at Tri County Schools at Hebron, NE. He also sold insurance throughout Nebraska and Missouri as well. He also served in the Vietnam War. Lowell was a member of the Church of Christ in Seward and a retired member of the National Education Association. In his free time he enjoyed doing genealogy research. On April 16, 1965 he was married to Ruth Dick at Savannah, MO.

He is survived by his wife Ruth of York, two sons Norman and his wife Mandy Carlock of Turney, MO and Byran and his wife Sarah Carlock of Lincoln, NE. Two daughters Malinda and her husband Heath Daniel of Tonganoxi, KS and Becky Carlock of York. Four grandchildren Marissa Daniel and Chad Daniel both of Tonganoxi, KS and Jacob Henry Carlock and Lisa Carlock both of Turney, MO. Also surviving is his mother Gerthel Fern Carlock, one brother Gerald and his wife Barbara Carlock, two sisters Carolyn Stevens and Beth and her husband Russ Clair all of Albany, MO. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother in law.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the East Hill Church of Christ in York with Mike Case officiating. Further services were on Friday March 3, 2006 at the Church of Christ in Albany, MO with burial in the Old Brick Cemetery near Albany. Memorials may be directed to the Levitt Library in York or to Diabetes Research.
