Patrick Callahan
Patrick J. Callahan age 82 of Utica, Nebraska died Tuesday, February 01, 2005 at Grand Island. He was born on October 1, 1922 in New York City to Patrick A. and Gertrude (Morris) Callahan. Patrick was an Army Air Corp veteran having served in WWII from 1943 to 1946. He was a milk truck driver in New York City for 38 years. He was married to Evelyn Abrahams on August 7, 1943 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
He is survived by his wife Evelyn of Utica; sons, Patrick (Allisyne) Callahan and James (Maureen) Callahan all of New York; daughters, Agnes (Roy) Summers of New York, Rosemarie Callahan of Utica, NE, and Janet (Steve) Metzger of Fairmont, NE.; 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 children, Marion & Michael; and 2 sisters, Elizabeth Sobkiewicz and Agnes Callahan.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 4, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at the Metz Chapel in York with Father Leo Seiker officiating. Burial will be at the Utica Cemetery. Because of Patrick’s great love of animals, memorials may be directed to Adopt-A-Pet or the donor’s favorite charity. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. on Thursday.
