DeAnn Buntjer

DeAnn Darlene (Erks) Buntjer, age 55 of Waco, NE died Thursday, February 8, 2007 at Geneva, NE. She was born on December 12, 1951 at York, NE to Fred J. and Darlene (Gocke) Erks. She was united in marriage to John Buntjer on April 18, 1981 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Waco, NE. DeAnn was a case manager registered nurse at Gross Mount Hospital in San Diego, CA. She enjoyed quilting, cats and marlin fishing.

She is survived by her husband John Buntjer of Waco; her father Fred J. Erks and his wife Wilma of York; two brothers: Verdell F. Erks and his wife Diane of Waco and Brian L. Erks and his wife Donna of Lincoln, NE; eight nieces and nephews: Wendy Erks of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Crystal Lukes and her husband Andrew of Geneva, Aaron Erks and his wife Jen of Seward, Dawn Erks of Seward, Brooke Erks of Lincoln, Mark Erks on active duty in Afghanistan, Melinda Erks of Lincoln; Samantha Erks of Lincoln; four great nieces and nephews: Vanessa, Hunter and Carly Lukes of Geneva and Dietrich Erks of Seward; uncle Darrell Gocke and his wife Peggy of Waco; and aunt Beulah Gocke of Waco. She was preceded in death by her mother Darlene.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Waco, NE with the Reverend Paul Kerns officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Hour or to Christian Music Appreciation.
