Jeanette Bredenkamp

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend died on October 13, 2009 surrounded by family at the age of 78 years. Jeanette Bassler Bredenkamp was born on April 12, 1931 in Cordova, NE to Frank and Anna (Chrisitansen) Bassler. Jeanette was raised in Lincoln, NE and graduated from Northeast High School in 1948. On August 15, 1948 she was married to Keith Bredenkamp at First Lutheran Church in Lincoln. To this union, two daughters and one son were born, Sherry, Scott and Ann.

Jeanette was a 61 year active member of the First Lutheran Church of McCool Jct., NE. She sang in the choir for many years and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was a member of the Women’s church group and held the office of President for many years. She also was a member of the church quilting group. She was a co-leader of the 4-H club, Quick Tricks, in the 1960’s until they disbanded, was a member of the County Extension Club also until they disbanded as well as a member of various other organizations.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Keith; daughters, Sherry and husband Jack Bellis of McCool Jct., Ann and husband Brian Sipma of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Drew Bellis of Henderson, NE, Heather (Dave) Stahr of Waco, NE, Todd Bellis of Henderson, Tony Sipma of Des Moines, and Tim (Tracy) Sipma of Des Moines.; great-grandchildren, Garrett and Dane Bellis of Aurora, NE, Cole and Ian Stahr of Waco, Trent Smith of Aurora, Makayla Bellis of Loup City, NE and Mallory Sipma of Des Moines. Also surviving are sisters, Betty Johnson of Lincoln, Doris Moses of York, Marilyn Prosser of Houma, LA; brothers, Jack (Joyce) Bassler and Steve (Connie) Bassler both of Costa Mesa, CA; sister-in-law Barbara Bredenkamp of Aurora, CO, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Scott, twin sister Janet Waline, and parents-in-law Henry and Irene Bredenkamp.

Great appreciation and gratitude is extended to Tabitha Hospice Care of York, the Dialysis Center of York and the Oncology Department at the York General Hospital for all their loving care.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2009 at the First Lutheran Church of McCool Jct., with the Reverend Richard Woolard officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, York, NE. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., Wednesday and 9-9 p.m., Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the First Lutheran Church in McCool Jct. or York General Hospital’s Dialysis Center or Oncology Department.
