Kenneth Boyle

Kenneth L. Boyle age 88 of York, NE passed away Friday, October 27, 2006 at York. He was born December 26, 1917 at Ericson, NE to James A. and Bessie (Bick) Boyle. He grew up in the Bradshaw area and attended schools in Bradshaw and York. While at York High School he was a member of the basketball team that went to state. Kenneth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in York and enjoyed the University of Nebraska basketball team.

On May 12, 1941 he was married to M. Kathleen Barnes at Clay Center, NE. To this union three children were born; James, Peggy and John. He farmed in the Bradshaw, McCool and York areas his adult life. You could also find Kenneth with any spare time setting up equipment at York Oliver.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen Boyle of York, a son Jim and his wife Jan Boyle of West Lafayette, IN, a daughter Peggy and her husband Jerry Otte of Grafton, NE and son John and his wife Penny Boyle of York. Grandchildren include Troy and his wife Candy Otte, Sheri and her husband Ryan Alt, Heather and her husband John Beran, Don Boyle, Cris Wolff and her husband Jason Tiedtke and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Clifford, a sister Marian and a grandson Lance.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Art Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in York with memorials being directed to the Lance J. Boyle Scholarship Fund in care of the York Community Foundation. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
