June Bourke

Naomi “June” Bourke, age 75 of Stromsburg, NE died Tuesday, July 07, 2009 at Stromsburg. She was born March 4, 1934 at Stella, NE to Don and Marjorie (Selk) Gilbert. Naomi was united in marriage to Maurice Patrick Bourke on December 26, 1951 at Falls City, NE. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York.

Survivors include her son Michael Bourke of York; granddaughter Jessica Bourke of York; three sisters, Phyllis Volkmer of Beatrice, NE, Donna (Bob) Ferris of Akron, OH, Marjorie (Gene) Blecha of Humbolt, NE; and one brother Verl (Delores) Gordon of Humbolt, NE. Also surviving are nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceding Naomi in death were her parents, husband, and sister Wanda Perez.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 10, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in York with the Reverend Mark Tasler officiating. Interment will be at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Grafton, NE. Rosary services will be held Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m., at the mortuary. Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday and 9a.m.-9p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
