Vesta Jean Bors

Vesta “Jean” Bors, age 96, of Fairmont, died Thursday, April 13, 2011 at Fairmont. She was born April 30, 1914 at Lincoln, NE to Truman and Meinrada (Steinauer) Williams. She graduated from McCool Jct., High School in 1931. On May 16, 1935, she was married to Joseph Bors Jr. at McCool Jct. Jean was a homemaker and spent her life nurturing and taking care of her family. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Alter Society, and Church Women United. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jean is survived by two daughters, Ellen (Harold) Stewart and Mary Anne (William) Fitzpatrick of rural McCool Jct.; one son James (Marilyn) Bors of Belgium, WI; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; daughter-in-law Janet Wilson-Bors of League City, TX; several nieces. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, son Thomas, brother James Williams, and sisters, Zella Arnold and Zita McGowan.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in McCool Jct., with Father Thomas Kuffel officiating. Burial was at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Wilbur Bohemian National Cemetery, Wilbur, NE. A Rosary was said Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at Metz Mortuary.
