Ernest Blum

Ernest H. Blum, age 81, longtime Waco area farmer, died Sunday, April 16, 2006 at Fairmont. He was born November 16, 1924 south of Waco, to Henry W. and Anna b. (Fuss) Blum. Ernest farmed near Waco until 1984 and then moved to York in 1993. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the LLL. Ernest is survived by his sister Ella Obermier of York, now residing at Fairmont; nieces, Joyce (Richard) Myers of Fremont, Jan (John) Wright of Ashburn, VA, and Patsy Jean (John) Hart of Kansas City; nephew, Bill W. Stindt of Friend, NE. Preceding him in death were his parents, infant sister and a niece.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 10:30 am at the St. John’s Lutheran south of Waco with the Rev. Paul Kern officiating. Burial was at the church cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. John’s Church or Lutheran Ministries.
