Opal Beistline
Opal M. Beistline age 93 of York, NE died Friday, August 05, 2005 at York.
She was born August 2, 1912 at Beloit, Kansas to Jacob G. and Lottie M. (Everts) Briney and graduated from Beloit High School in 1930. She was a member of the First Christian Church in York and the American Legion Auxiliary. Opal was also a charter member of the Yorktown Navy Mothers where she served as a state officer for 34 years and was a lifetime member of the P.T.A. She was also an Admiral in the Nebraska Navy.
She was married to Paul L. Beistline on April 1, 1934 at Waterville, Kansas.
She is survived by two sons Phillip Beistline of Parkston, S.D. and Billy Beistline of Lincoln, NE. Four Grandchildren, Steven W. and his wife Teresa Beistline of Cheyenne, WY, Lisa and her husband Trevor Ketchum of Parkston, SD, Brian M Beistline of Tablerock, NE and Cobin L. Beistline of Lincoln.
Five Great Grandchildren Stephanie Beistline of Cheyenne, WY, Amy Jo Beistline of Cheyenne, Kaitlyn Ketchum of Parkston, SD, Natalie Ketchum & Jarred Ketchum of Parkston, SD. Many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a granddaughter Maegan Beistline, two brothers Dale and Floyd Briney and two daughter-in-laws Elaine Beistline and Starlyn Beistline.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at the Metz Chapel with the Reverend Ron Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church in York or to the donor’s choice. Visitation begins after 5:00 p.m., Monday at the mortuary.
