Marvel Lorrayne Anderson

Marvel Lorrayne Anderson, known as Lorrayne, age 88 of Osceola, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at Osceola. She was born May 8, 1918, at home in Carson, IA to Frank and Neva (Graybill) Sloman. Lorrayne was adopted by Ross Tarr after his marriage to Neva in 1922. Lorrayne graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs, IA, and worked as a Dental Assistant until her marriage to Robert Walker in 1938. Two daughters were born, Judith Beatrice and Linda Suellen. She married Leo Anderson in 1950 in Des Moines, IA, and they had two sons, Mark Leo and Matthew Leo. Lorrayne worked for many years with Leo in his doctor’s office as a Medical Technician, Practical Nurse, and office manger. After living in York, NE for a number of years, they moved to Scottsdale, AR in 1965. Lorrayne lived there until she had a stroke in 1995, and then moved to the Good Samaritan Center on February 14, 1996, where she lived until her death. Lorrayne enjoyed crossword puzzles and watching game shows. Some of her favorites were Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She also enjoyed watching some sporting events and the news.

Survivors include daughters: Judith (Gerald) Bryan of Osceola, NE, and Linda Hosterman of Tempe, AR. Sons are Mark (Cindy) Anderson of Scottsdale, AR and Matthew (Chris) Anderson of Hillsboro, OR. Grandchildren are Debra Bryan, and David (Nancy) Bryan of Osceola, NE, Beverly (Ken) Cannon of Silver Creek, NE, Brenda (Joel) Lozano of Encenada, Mexico, Jeffrey Hosterman of Scottsdale, AR, Daniel and Nicole Anderson of Scottsdale, and Nicholas, Jesse and Kyle Anderson of OR. She had three great grandchildren; Cy Jennings, Wynn Noelle, and Corby Wyatt Cannon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, and on son-in-law, Arthur Hosterman.

Funeral Services were Friday, July 21, 2006 at the Metz Chapel, with Jeff Wulf officiating. Graveside services followed at Greenwood Cemetery in York. Memorials may be sent to the Good Samaritan Center at 600 Center Drive, Osceola, NE 68651.
