Stingley, Barbara

Barbara P. Stingley, age 72, of York, died Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at York. She was born November 16, 1939 in rural Osmond, NE to Henry and Frances (Thomas) Broer. She was united in marriage to Dean Stingley on December 27, 1957 at Elk Point, SD. Barbara worked as a paralegal in South Sioux City, NE for a several years and most recently as a dispatcher for Morgan Driveway in York. She enjoyed cooking, playing cards and scrabble.

Barbara is survived by her husband Dean of York; son Jonathan Stingley of York; daughters, Patti Stingley-Bills of Morrilton, AR and Lisa (Rick) Johnson of York; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Brodersen of Randolph, NE, Nancy (Rob) Savage of Brookings, SD, and Vicki Wilken (Hilda Benz) of Minnesota; sister-in-law Cece (Joe) Olsrud of Luvern, MN; nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, brother Larry, and infant daughter, Pamela Kay.

Memorial services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
